I want to welcome you to my page. I hope you find it informative in a way that can be funny, quirky and a little out there. I am in no way making light of what my past crime was, but have found living in guilt and shame does not cut it for me anymore. I am a mother, a wife and a felon. Yes, you heard me right, a felon. I will always be a felon because I made a life changing mistake in 2003. I plead guilty to causing a car accident that resulted in a fatality. By taking a plea for six years incarceration at the Arizona Department of Corrections I was able to avoid going to trial and risking my freedom even more. I eventually served five years at the Perryville Prison in Goodyear, Arizona.
You may be asking yourself, “why would she want a blog about prison life?”. Well, that prison life was my entire life for five years. When I reentered society, I struggled with where that part fit in. Little stories lept out of my mouth in the middle of a normal conversation. Everyone seemed interested and I found it was a way to face fears and confront shame. I have even began to laugh at some of the absurdity of it all. I hope you will too.
